This greeting card is printed from my original stained glass design artwork . It depicts the Irish saint St Brigid of Kildare.
Although historical facts about this saint are extremely rare there is a wealth of miracle stories and anecdotes surrounding her life some of which are deeply rooted in Irish folklore. One of my favourites is the tale of her changing her bath water into beer to satisfy the thirst of unexpected clerical visitors!
St Brigid is the patron saint of healers, poets, blacksmiths and dairy maids.
