Real Sunset Moth Wing Multi-coloured Reversible Pendant Necklace

This beautifully vibrant and unique pendant is made from the hind wing of a Madagascar Sunset Moth. It has been encased and preserved for all time in glass using the Tiffany stained glass technique echoing the ancient tradition of preserving relics in reliquaries.

Often mistaken for butterflies due to their vibrant colours and day time flying habits, these wings contain very little pigment. The amazing iridescent colours are created by the curvature of tiny scales that reflect the light from different angles.

As both sides of the wing are completely different this piece can be worn either way round. The perfect accessory for any occasion, both unique and versatile.

All the wings I use in my work are ethically sourced from butterfly farms that support butterfly/moth conservation. They have all died naturally in butterfly houses, none are killed.
